We're looking for experienced professionals to perform maintenance and repairs on garbage trucks, handling everything from hydraulics and electrical systems to engines. What You'll Do:
Perform repairs, including routine maintenance and fixes on engines, chassis, body components, hydraulic systems, brake systems, suspension systems, and more.
Inspect equipment and trucks, checking their condition, parts, fluid levels, and various systems.
Demonstrate knowledge in hydraulic repairs.
Use vehicle computer electronics systems to understand failure modes and initiate repairs.
Carry out safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
Complete paperwork using fleet maintenance software for repairs, documenting parts used, and tracking repair times.
Review and address repairs noted on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
Engage in maintenance-related tasks as needed.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with corporate and OSHA standards.
Adhere to safety protocols while working on vehicles.
Communicate effectively about needed repairs or tasks.
Engage in extensive physical activity including heavy lifting and handling objects over 50 pounds.
Work environment may include indoor shop settings or outdoor spaces for on-road repairs, with the need to work in varying positions and handle equipment in challenging conditions. Basic safety precautions are essential.
Requirements:
A minimum of 2+ years' experience directly related to the duties described above is required.
Must provide own personal tools; welding or fabrication experience is a significant plus!
ASE Certifications are preferred but not required.
