Position Purpose:

Your safety and that of your teammates is our top priority! As a Diesel Technician - Class B, you will play an essential role in maintaining, repairing, and overhauling our fleet of diesel-operated vehicles, ensuring adherence to compliance and safety standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct preventative maintenance and minor repairs on medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and refrigeration units with minimal supervision.
  • Perform thorough inspections to identify root causes of mechanical issues and execute necessary repairs.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly licensed and registered to be roadworthy.
  • Document all repairs and maintenance activities accurately in our online Enterprise Asset Management system.
  • Install, replace, and repair onboard computers as needed.
  • Inspect critical components such as brake systems, wheel bearings, and steering mechanisms, ensuring their safety and functionality.
  • Carry out routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, battery checks, and equipment lubrication using hand and power tools.
  • Mentor and train other mechanics as required.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned to support the team.

Qualifications:

A high school diploma or GED is required.

3 - 5 years of proven experience in medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair, including preventative maintenance, tire & wheel work, air & air disc brake systems, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, and refrigeration experience.
