How you will change lives

As a Patient Care Specialist (PCS) at US Renal Care, you will be a vital part of a dedicated team providing high-quality care and treatment to patients suffering from renal failure. You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse (CN) to deliver compassionate support to those in need.

What you'll be doing

Patient Care. You will engage directly with patients to provide safe and effective dialysis treatments. Your responsibilities will include gathering vital patient statistics, initiating and monitoring treatment, concluding procedures, and collecting blood samples as per physician orders.

Technical Duties. You will prioritize quality by preparing and maintaining dialysis machines, ensuring they're cleaned and disinfected after each treatment, conducting safety checks, and accurately logging results for compliance and quality control.

Safety and Quality. You will adhere to all safety guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment. Under the guidance of the Charge Nurse, you will comply with company policies and relevant laws. Participation in meetings and ongoing education will be essential to your role.

What we're looking for

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A passion for healthcare and a commitment to caring for patients
  • Previous experience in healthcare settings, such as dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a CNA, is advantageous

Other requirements

  • Successful completion of the USRC training program approved by the Medical Director, demonstrating competency within 8 weeks of hire.
  • Successful completion of the USRC training in hemodialysis theory and practice within 8 weeks of hire.
  • CPR certification required within 90 days of hire or as mandated by state regulations.
  • Patient Care Technician certification must be acquired through a state certification program or a nationally recognized commercial program within 18 months of hire, maintaining good standing thereafter.
  • Ability to distinguish all primary colors is essential.
  • Comfortable with mixing acids and bicarbonate according to established protocols.
