The Diagnostic Services Assistant prepares and transports patients to and from imaging departments; selects appropriate equipment and notifies all relevant personnel of patient status, special needs, or instructions.

Responsibilities
  • Assists health professionals as appropriate to assigned work area.
  • Ensures that medical equipment necessary for patient transport is clean, functional, and operational. Reports any equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
  • Helps maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Transports patients (whose conditions range from stable to highly complex with special equipment needs) to other nursing units, to diagnostic and treatment areas.
  • Note: Position requires every other weekend, Saturdays and Sundays 7 am-7pm, with the possibility of additional hours as needed.
Qualifications
  • High School graduate.
  • North Carolina Nursing Assistant Level 1 certification required.
  • Maintain certification in BLS.
