Base pay range

$65,000.00/yr - $75,000.00/yr

CW is seeking a DFAC Manager to take charge of dining facility operations on Fort Drum.

• Lead daily dining facility operations to ensure consistent, high-quality meal service for military personnel.
• Supervise and train staff to meet food safety, sanitation, and military standards.
• Manage procurement, inventory, and storage of food and supplies per contract requirements.
• Conduct inspections and enforce protocols to maintain cleanliness and readiness.
• Serve as the main point of contact for government officials and military leadership.
• Address operational issues and implement improvements based on feedback.
• Submit reports, audits, and performance data accurately and on time.
• Support field feeding, surge operations, and special events as needed.

What You'll Need

• Associate's degree in Food Service Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field (Preferred).
• ServSafe Manager required; HACCP preferred.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in food service operations.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role within military, government, or institutional settings.
• Proficiency in budgeting, inventory control, reporting, team leadership, and operational analysis to support efficient and compliant food service operations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and digital inventory/reporting systems.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and collaborate across roles.
• Must have a Valid driver's license.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

• Experience with contingency feeding and emergency response protocols.
• Knowledge of sustainable food service practices and waste reduction strategies.

• Frequently stands and walks throughout the dining facility and kitchen areas during meal service, inspections, and staff supervision. Shifts may require 610 hours of intermittent movement on hard surfaces.
• Regularly perform administrative duties at a desk, including scheduling, reporting, inventory management, and communication with government personnel. May sit for extended periods while using a computer or reviewing documentation.
• Occasionally lifts and moves boxes of food, cleaning supplies, and small equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Requires frequent movement between food prep areas, serving lines, storage rooms, dishwashing stations, and office spaces. Must respond promptly to operational needs across the facility.
• May bend, stoop, or reach during inspections, equipment checks, or when assisting staff with physical tasks.
• Works in hot environments near cooking equipment and cold areas such as walk-in refrigerators and freezers. Must transition between temperature zones during routine oversight.
• Exposed to ambient noise from kitchen equipment, ventilation systems, and team communications.
• Encounters food aromas, steam, and cleaning chemicals during walkthroughs and inspections. Sensory tolerance is required to work safely and comfortably.
• May encounter wet or slick floors due to spills or cleaning activities. Use of slip-resistant footwear and enforcement of safety protocols is essential.
