Inceptive

Job Location : Palo Alto,CA, USA

Job Description :

At Inceptive, you will drive development forward that could help billions of people. To accomplish this, you will be part of a collaborative, antedisciplinaryteam building our biological software.

In order to design superior therapeutic RNA molecules, our AI models must be guided and validated by accurate measurements of therapeutically-relevant RNA properties. We acquire this data by thoughtfully constructing in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo assays which give biologically accurate and statistically robust feedback to model development. We standardize and deploy these assays at low latency and substantial throughput via automated liquid-handling, instrumentation, and data analysis.

You will develop and operationalize high throughput molecular and cell-based assays to assess RNA properties, including expression, stability, impact on disease state, and more. You will optimize in vitro and ex vivo functional assays with the aim towards identifying molecules (and AI designers thereof) with superior performance in preclinical in vivo experiments. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team to rapidly prototype and scale assays by leveraging robotics and data-driven iteration, with a goal towards improving AI-driven design of therapeutic RNA molecules.

Your Mission, should you choose to accept it

  • Embody our vision of an antedisciplinary environment and embrace learning outside of your traditional area of expertise
  • Deliver robust, biologically accurate, and scalable assays for RNA properties in a therapeutic context
  • Collaborate with team members from diverse backgrounds to build rigorous and innovative experiments that advance the state-of-the-art AI-based molecular design

Qualifications

  • PhD, and 5+ years of combined postdoc or equivalent practical experience (e.g., industry experience, research, or advanced technical expertise)
  • Problem-solver who is equally excited by finding creative solutions to complex problems as you are by executing on them
  • Experience with experimental design, execution, and data analysis of in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo assays
  • Ability to communicate technical and scientific concepts to team members from diverse backgrounds
  • Availability to work with team members across US and Europe, with meetings starting at 8am PT
  • Proven track record building and scaling molecular and cell-based assays in mammalian cells

Preferred technical skills

  • Experience developing assays for high-throughput screening, including adapting protocols for automated liquid-handling and readout
  • Knowledge of RNA biology and biochemistry, and biologics drug development
  • Experience with preclinical in vivo work
  • Experience with high-content microscopy, flow cytometry, and protein quantification
  • Experience with next-generation sequencing on Illumina and Oxford Nanopore platforms
  • Ability to visualize data and perform statistical analysis, preferably in Python

Compensation

$135K – $240K + Bonus + Equity
