POSITION SUMMARY:

This role will support the Global Visual Merchandising & Retail Experience team with all creative needs, including displayers, graphics, presentations, guidelines, etc. to ensure the brand's retail experience is consistent and representative of the brand s global standards across all channels. This position is responsible for form development (3D), graphic design (2D), and for creating and issuing global guidelines, technical drawings, and production-ready artwork for regional teams to produce locally. Working closely with many internal teams (Creative Operations, Image, Store Design, etc.) this designer will create concepts for merchandising units and graphics, present to leadership, take feedback and implement changes in a timely manner, and roll out global strategy related to permanent, new product launch and/or seasonal programs for the brand.

Please note, this role is temporary starting August 2024 lasting for approximately 6 month duration.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Full execution of all visual merchandising requests, managing multiple phases of projects.
  • Based on creative requests/briefs: develop designs that are clear, visually impactful, & easy to navigate.
  • Produce 3D models, renders, plans, 2D graphics, and design turn-over drawings (DTOs) to meet needs for product displays, launch content and guidelines, in-store artwork and graphics.
  • Understand practical VM needs for formats and fixtures in various environments: freestanding stores, partner doors, and specialty-multi retailers, to maximize product exposure and storytelling.
  • Based on competitive landscape, develop displays to stand out from the competition and highlight new product launches.
  • Develop graphics, package and create visual guidelines for launch and/or evergreen programs, and issue design standards to affiliate teams for local production - for merchandising units as well as enhanced visual merchandising ( EVM - window decals/table wraps, etc)
  • Work with key partners (i.e., Editorial, Image, SD, PM, CM, etc) to ensure all designs achieve the best results for each program and ensure merchandising solutions result in a cohesive brand message and positive brand experience for all customers in-store.
  • Create digital guidelines/presentations of open sell systems for internal/external use.
  • Attend meetings, present concepts and report on project status as necessary.
  • Organization: Maintain a well-organized database of all project assets (on shared server)
  • Maintain awareness of current trends in visual arts and merchandising, research trends and materials.
  • Project management: MUST be detail-oriented, able to manage and own projects and their timelines, develop on-schedule, maintain communication for project needs as they arise.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrated experience in visual merchandising design; tester displays, gondola designs, display design, styling, events or related areas - preferably luxury beauty brands
  • Beauty experience is REQUIRED
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high pressure, creative environment.
  • Proficient in 3D design programs (Rhino, Keyshot)
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task with agility
  • Must be a self-starter, flexible and imaginative with a strong understanding of 3D design
  • Can take direction, work independently and collaboratively
  • Project management, tracking progress on multiple projects and flagging issues/excellent communication.
  • Knowledge of retail trends and SMC environments
