Summary:
As a Design Engineer within Large Power Systems Division (LPSD), you will support the design and development of low-pressure fuel systems for large diesel engines. This role involves a mix of engineering problem-solving, detailed design work, supplier collaboration, and hands-on testing. You will serve as the primary contact for specific engine families, driving improvements in reliability and durability.
Responsibilities:
- Review and assess warranty and field performance data to identify problems and propose solutions.
- Lead Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) teams to resolve product and system-level issues.
- Collaborate with suppliers to understand manufacturing processes and implement design/process improvements.
- Respond to inquiries from engine assembly plants regarding quality, design, and performance.
- Update technical drawings and documentation in coordination with the detailing group.
- Support testing and validation activities (approx. 20% of workload).
Qualification & Education:
- Master OR Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field 3+ years of relevant engineering experience
- Proven skills in:
- Engineering problem-solving
- Detailed design (CAD/technical drawings)
- Supplier collaboration/understanding of manufacturing processes
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with heavy-duty machines, engines, or engine components
- Hands-on validation/testing experience
