The Department of Design and Construction, Division of Infrastructure, seeks Design Engineers. Under the guidance of an Engineer-in-Charge, successful candidates will prepare contract documents, specifications, and final estimates; conduct engineering investigations; develop contract plans and working drawings; conduct field surveys; compile reports; participate in engineering reviews and studies; and design projects with minimal oversight.

Authorization to work in the United States is required. NYC Department of Design and Construction does not sponsor visas. Applicants must meet all requirements at the time of application.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A baccalaureate degree in civil engineering and one year of civil engineering experience; or
  • A baccalaureate degree and a Master's degree in civil engineering.
  • Preferred Skills include excellent communication, proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD, experience with infrastructure projects, familiarity with NYCDOT, NYSDOT, NYCDEP standards, MUTCD, AASHTH standards, Primavera P6, and ENV SP credential is a plus.
