Job Description

Design Engineers develop and compare alternative layouts or designs that utilize equipment of various kinds and capabilities in diverse physical arrangements. Responsibilities may include considering structural, mechanical, and hydraulic features, working on preliminary designs and specifications, and evaluating changes in design and performance during production. Tasks also include reviewing new approaches to circuitry, power distribution, or incorporating automatic self-test methods in equipment design.

Qualifications
  • Conceptualize, develop, and refine designs using CAD software to create detailed technical drawings.
  • Create and test prototypes, analyze performance data, and modify designs to optimize performance.
  • Identify and resolve design-related issues, conduct root-cause failure analyses, and develop innovative solutions.
  • Document design processes, specifications, and findings in technical reports and manuals.
  • Ensure designs meet industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline or Industrial Design.
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in mechanical, structural, or electrical/electronic design.
  • SECRET security clearance minimum.
Additional Information
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible to work on Government contracts.
  • Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).
