OverviewWe are currently seeking a Design Build Coordinator I for our Southern California Water Division.The Design Build Coordinator I is responsible for achieving intended results related to design selection, design subcontracting, design deliverables, project execution and Value Engineering. Supports the DB Management tasks required of DBM or SR DBM on a project specific basis. Intended to coordinate a singular major scope and possible minor sub-scopes of design during project operations.As a fourth-generation, family-owned business, Walsh recruits individuals who are seeking a small company feel with a large company backing. Responsibilities

• Completes design and constructability reviews. Works with both engineers and construction personnel to evaluate design efficiency and constructability to meet the intended purpose and construction approach.
• Tracks design schedule on a design-build project and works with engineers/designer to meet intended budget and schedule.
• Coordinates the activities between designer and construction personnel, to include all post-design phase process reviews to be carried out by the Owner during construction.
• Coordinates cost saving strategies on design-build projects by reducing quantities and scope through design refinement, Equal or Better Changes, and VE's. Works with designer to establish an optimized design approach.
• Works with Design and Construction personnel to evaluate, establish and implement Alternative Technical Concepts (ATCs) and develops strategy to gain owner approval.
• Responsible for maintaining their project's design QIR records.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering or construction management,
• Preferred: Ability to gain Professional Engineering License and related continuing education maintained, securing additional State licensure if required
• At least 1 year of applicable experience in the construction industry with a minimum of 5 years of practical civil/structural design experience

OR

• At least 5 years of practical construction / Design Build experience.

Salary Range: $99,000 - 149,000/YrDivision: WaterJob Category: Design BuildJob Type: Full_timePlease note that job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, including but not limited to: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands.
