The annual salary range for this role is $190,000-$220,000 in New York.
Why we are recruiting
The North America Team - within the Center for Regions, Trade, and Geopolitics – serves as the primary interface between the World Economic Forum and public sector constituents in the United States and Canada.
There is growing demand to feature the voice of policy makers from the region in the Forum's extensive range of events , activities, and research . This role will boost the capacity to track developments in the region, and expand engagement with critical stakeholders.
This role sits at the intersection of strategy, stakeholder engagement, and people management, and will play a pivotal role in shaping the Forum's presence and impact in North America.
Reporting Lines & Interactions
The position will report to the Head, Regional Agenda, North America, within the Centre for Regions, Trade, and Geopolitics.
The role has both an internal and an external dimension: Internally you will manage a small team while simultaneously interacting with a range of colleagues, including business, Centers , and events teams globally. Externally, you will manage ties with select government constituents, helping design and implement the Forum's engagement with government stakeholders around the United States and Canada.
Breakdown of Main Responsibilities
People Management:
Focuses on the development, well-being, and performance of their team members in the lens of the Forum Leadership Model – driving change, building collaboration, inspiring and delivering results. Guide, support, and motivate employees to achieve their goals and contribute to the overall success of the team and organization. Key responsibilities include setting goals, providing feedback, resolving conflicts, and fostering a positive work environment.
External Engagement:
Cultivate relations with government officials and their staff by effectively communicating Forum messaging to key offices. You will ensure relevant voices from the public policy sphere are represented throughout Forum activities and serve as a critical bridge between the Forum and government. You will develop a trusted network of thought-leaders and influential thinkers and actors in the region to help inform the Forum's work. Represents the Forum externally in an effective and impactful way.
Internal Engagement and Responsibilities:
Assist in representing the team as needed inside the organization. You will interact extensively with other Center colleagues inside the Forum to understand the substantive topics they are working on, and how a North American public policy angle can add value to that work.
Strategy Formulation and implementation
Based on real-time events and evolving trends in the region, you will be a key figure in the development of the Forum's North American public sector engagement strategy, identifying opportunities to seize and challenges to address. This will involve substantial internal coordination as you build the needed coalitions to achieve these goals. Make strategic decisions and solves complex problems for the function.
