The ACLU is hiring a full-time Deputy Director for Affiliate Organizational Management, Equity and Inclusion in the Affiliate Support and Nationwide Initiatives Department of the ACLU's National office in New York. This is a hybrid role requiring in-office presence two days per week or eight days per month. The role reports to the Senior Director for Affiliate Organizational Management, Equity and Inclusion and serves as a strategic partner and second in command. The team provides programming, resources, and technical assistance in equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging (EDIB), restorative inclusion practices, change management, organizational development, leadership development, human resources, board governance, strategic planning, and organizational financial health. Responsibilities include leading strategy development, assessment and reporting, partnering with program teams, promoting team programs, overseeing team operations including budgets and hiring, supporting affiliate programs such as Learning Communities and strategic planning, managing surveys and reporting, and other duties as assigned. Candidates should have significant experience in organizational development, nonprofit management, strategic planning, program evaluation, managing diverse teams, leading organizational change, project management, and excellent communication skills. A Master's degree and experience in organizational financial best practices are preferred. The position offers an annual salary of $188,816 based in New York, NY, with regional pay adjustments possible.
