Position Type: Clerical/Deputy Claims Auditor Date Posted: 7/3/2025 Location: Croton-Harmon District Office Date Available: 08/04/2025 Closing Date: 07/25/2025 Position Title: Deputy Claims Auditor Appointed By: Board of Education, Croton-Harmon Union Free School District Purpose of the Position: The Deputy Claims Auditor is designated to serve in the temporary or occasional absence of the District's Claims Auditor. The Deputy is authorized to perform all functions of the Claims Auditor to ensure continuity in the auditing and approval of claims against the District. Legal Authority: Established by Board of Education Resolution dated [Insert Date of Resolution], pursuant to the authority vested in the Board of Education under New York State Education Law. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review and audit all claims against the District for legality, appropriateness, and accuracy.
• Ensure claims are properly documented and in compliance with Board policies and applicable laws.
• Approve claims for payment when the primary Claims Auditor is unavailable.
• Maintain detailed records and documentation of claims reviewed and decisions made.
• Communicate with District personnel, vendors, and the Business Office as needed to clarify or verify claim information.
• Report findings and recommendations to the Board or appropriate District officials if irregularities or concerns arise.

Conditions of Service:

• The Deputy Claims Auditor shall act only in the absence or inability of the District's primary Claims Auditor.
• This is a part-time, as-needed position.
• Compensation shall be at a rate established by the Board of Education in the resolution appointing the Deputy.

Reporting Structure:

• Reports directly to the Board of Education.
• Functions independently of the Superintendent and District administration to maintain impartiality and independence in the auditing process.

Term of Designation: Serves at the pleasure of the Board of Education or for the duration specified in the resolution of appointment.
