The Deputy Chief Information Officer (DCIO) plays a critical leadership role in advancing MDOT's enterprise IT strategy through effective oversight of technical operations and services. This highly technical leadership position is focused on guiding and managing core technical domains, including infrastructure, applications, networks, systems, GIS/Data, and other enterprise services from both administrative and technical standpoints.The Deputy CIO is directly responsible for overseeing the technical operations of all IT services across MDOT, including critical functions such as application development and support, network infrastructure, operating systems, IT administration, and enterprise data services. In addition, the Deputy CIO manages the IT services provided to and from the Office of the Secretary of Transportation (TSO), ensuring strategic alignment, seamless integration, and service continuity across the entire organization.In this dynamic role, you will:The current vacancy exists at MDOT TSO in the Office of Transportation Technology Services (OTTS), which is located in Hanover, MD. Education:A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
Experience:
Ten (10)years of leadership experience in enterprise IT in complex, hybrid governance environments, managing infrastructure, applications, networks, and data services.
Five (5) years must include large-scale IT projects, operational resilience, cybersecurity alignment, risk frameworks, and change management.*Experience in government or regulated industries preferred.
