As an administrative assistant in the interactive design and game development department, you will assist with student needs and respond promptly to all questions. You will support the departmental leadership and the office of academic services in initiatives and ongoing collaborative projects. Your responsibilities include classroom, extended learning opportunities (ELOs), and SCADextra workshop scheduling, as well as assistance with SCAD Day building preparations. Among other duties, you will read and direct incoming mail for departmental leadership to answer and compose routine correspondence. You will also oversee the filing and record-keeping system and maintain the calendars and schedules of department leaders. Additionally, you will support an assigned academic operations manager. In this role, you will prepare agendas, reserve and set up buildings, and record and transcribe meeting minutes. You will also greet scheduled visitors to direct them to the appropriate area or person. Additionally, you will order and maintain supplies, coordinate equipment maintenance, and work with housekeeping staff to ensure the buildings are ready for students. Responsibilities include the oversight of quarterly report submissions from faculty, the creation of a draft reports for departmental leader approval, and the coordination of end-of-quarter photo documentation of outstanding student work with the communications team. Among other duties, you will support university-wide initiatives by maintaining display spaces to continuously showcase excellent student work. This includes printing, displaying, and working with physical resources to discuss their needs before signature events, tours, and spring commencement.
