Job Description:We are seeking a Department Support Specialist I to provide administrative and clerical support in a hybrid work environment. The successful candidate will be adaptable, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently while maintaining strong communication with team members and stakeholders.
This is a customer service-focused role that primarily involves managing cases in Salesforce related to billing and other operational issues. The specialist will act as a liaison between customers, internal stakeholders, and, in some cases, utilities. Many of the cases will be escalated from tier-one support.
Responsibilities:Handle escalated customer service cases in Salesforce related to billing and operational issues.
Serve as an intermediary between customers, internal teams, and utilities when necessary.
Apply strong issue-resolution skills and communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats.
Manage time and tasks effectively with minimal supervision.
Support order-to-cash processes and related administrative functions.
Availability to work 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST, hybrid schedule (onsite every Wednesday).
Home office setup with limited distractions and basic equipment (monitors, keyboard, mouse, headphones).
Strong background in customer service.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong time management and prioritization skills.
Experience with Salesforce and order-to-cash systems preferred.
Knowledge of the energy market is a plus.
Background check and drug testing will be required upon offer acceptance.
