Posting Number 2016146T Department Summary The Department Administrator plays a key leadership role in managing the business and administrative operations of Undergraduate Admissions. Serving as a strategic partner to the AVP for Enrollment Management and Director of Undergraduate Admissions, this position oversees budgeting, financial operations, human resources processes, and office-wide administrative functions. The role ensures smooth coordination across units, supports compliance and operational logistics, and manages facilities access and safety. As a member of the leadership team, the Department Administrator provides expert guidance and exceptional service to both internal teams and external partners, contributing to the overall effectiveness and professionalism of the office. This position actively contributes to Enrollment Management's budgetary process. The Department Administrator works closely with the AVP and Executive Director to ensure strategic alignment and the return on investment (ROI) for events and recruitment initiatives. Position Profile Oversees, plans, manages, implements and/or evaluates the operations of a college, division, or department in the areas of human resources, compliance, financial, and additional services. Identifies and establishes financial and operational systems to monitor, control, and improve efficiency and effectiveness, not limited to, processes, procedures and policies. Level Summary Provides professional expertise to the University community. Serves as a resource and guide to others in the department and/or university. Completes operational tasks essential for the daily functioning of the University. Additionally, contributes to larger projects or initiatives that align with department or University goals, often collaborating across teams. Supervisory Responsibilities May assist in mentoring or training new employees. Fiscal Responsibilities No budgetary responsibility. May be responsible for validating transactions. Problem Solving Handles a variety of problems with some independence. Independence of Action Some supervision; able to work independently on routine tasks. Communication and Collaboration Collaborates with team members and shares knowledge. Physical Requirements This role is primarily desk-based and involves extensive use of desktop computers. Occasionally, the job may require travel to attend meetings and programs. Minimum Qualifications Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 3-5 years of related professional experience, or equivalent education and experience. Preferred Qualifications Must have advanced proficiency with spreadsheets and word processing, preferably Microsoft Office products. Must have experience and understanding of basic human resources functions. Must be able to maintain confidentiality. Preferable to have experience working in higher education. Department Admissions Pay Rate The Department Administrator is mapped to Pay Grade CA&P 17 at OHIO, with a target hiring range of $51,281-$67,947. The exact starting salary for the selected candidate will be negotiable, commensurate with education and experience, and competitive in the field within the context of similarly situated positions at public universities nationally.
