Job Summary MCHC is seeking a part-time Dentist to provide high-quality dental and oral health care services at our MCHC Bronx Center. The ideal candidate will offer compassionate care, contribute to team-based treatment planning, and help promote positive health outcomes within the community. This position offers flexible scheduling within a 20-30 hour/week framework and is eligible for NHSC and Federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness programs. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver quality dental services in line with professional standards and MCHC policies.
- Perform initial and annual comprehensive dental exams.
- Review medical and dental histories to ensure appropriate care.
- Identify and diagnose dental issues using clinical and radiographic assessments.
- Develop and manage individualized treatment plans.
- Provide on-site acute dental care and coordinate comprehensive services.
- Record accurate, timely notes in the eClinicalWorks (eCW) electronic health record system.
- Follow up on abnormal findings and test results.
- Refer patients to specialists as needed and implement recommended treatments.
- Participate in internal committees (Medical Advisory, Quality Assurance, Infection Control, Peer Review) as needed.
- Represent the health center at court hearings related to patient care, if applicable.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA and organizational policies.
- Engage in continuing dental education.
Qualifications
- Active New York State Dental License
- Valid DEA Certificate
- Current BLS Certification
- Three professional references
- Experience using electronic health records (preferably eCW)
- Strong communication, organizational, and patient-care skills
- Full COVID-19 vaccination required
