Job Description :

Our client is seeking a licensed and experienced Dentist to join their healthcare team within a correctional facility setting. This role provides a unique opportunity to deliver vital dental care to underserved populations in a secure, team-oriented environment. You will be responsible for routine and emergency dental services, program oversight, and ensuring high standards of clinical care and compliance. Salary range: $150,000 to $200,000 a yearKey Responsibilities

  • Deliver a wide range of dental services: exams, x-rays, cleanings, extractions, fillings, dentures, and anterior/premolar root canals.
  • Diagnose oral conditions and create personalized treatment plans for each patient.
  • Oversee daily operations of the dental program and ensure compliance with facility policies.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential dental records and billing documentation.
  • Supervise and train dental staff, ensuring seamless collaboration with medical personnel.
  • Monitor inventory of dental supplies and controlled substances in accordance with regulations.
  • Uphold infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe clinical environment.
  • Coordinate external dental referrals and manage contract dental services as needed.
  • Participate in operational planning, cost reviews, and process improvements.
  • Ensure full compliance with legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
  • Support emergency response and participate in facility safety audits.
  • Professionally communicate with facility leadership, staff, and external partners.
  • Assist with legal inquiries or proceedings when required, in coordination with corporate counsel.
Qualifications
  • Doctorate in Dental Surgery (DDS) or Dental Medicine (DMD) from an accredited program.
  • Current, unrestricted dental license in the state of employment.
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical dental experience (correctional or public health setting preferred).
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Comfortable working in a correctional environment and able to manage high-pressure situations.
  • Valid driver's license preferred (if required by the facility).
  • Familiarity with correctional healthcare standards is a plus.
