Examples of DutiesJob Functions: 1. Provide high quality instruction, teach courses as assigned, provide students with course documentation, demonstrate effective interaction skills, relate instruction/materials to course objectives, develop creative class activities, use various teaching techniques, organize instruction. 2. Provide academic advising, assist with recruitment, develop and implement successful retention activities, assist in graduate placement, assist in student orientation/registration, provide appropriate safety instruction. 3. Manage classroom/lab, clinical activities in an orderly manner, hold eight (8) office hours per week, submit all required reports in a timely manner, prepare budget projections for equipment and supplies, practice good housekeeping, repair equipment as appropriate. 4. Design new programs, revise curricula, develop new courses, develop and revise instructional materials for current courses, participate in advisory committees. 5. Work on college committees, perform public service for the college, supervise/chaperone student events, promote the purpose and institutional objections of the college; build rapport with employers of graduates. Typical QualificationsMinimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in the teaching discipline, or associate's degree and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline. Associate degree from an ADA Accredited DHG program. Preferred Requirements: The minimum requirements as listed plus two (2) years' recent dental clinical experience; current SC dental hygiene license and RDH. Must meet minimum CODA guidelines for a Dental Instructor (DHG and DAT). Background in educational methodology and practice; current concepts relative to the specific subjects to be taught strongly preferred. Recent teaching experience highly desired. Must have CDA.
