Position: Full-Time Dental Hygienist

Location: Diabetes Wellness Center – Talihina, OK

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–4:30 PM

Compensation: Weekly earned wage access available

Dental Hygienist Role Summary -

As a Dental Hygienist at the Diabetes Wellness Center, you play a critical role in improving long-term health outcomes for patients with diabetes through proactive, high-quality periodontal care. Your performance will be measured by your ability to deliver effective treatment, educate patients, and contribute to improved oral and systemic health indicators across our patient population.

Key Performance Expectations -

  • Clinical Excellence: Perform thorough and effective dental cleanings—including prophylaxis, debridement, subgingival scaling, and root planing—using both hand and ultrasonic instruments.
  • Patient Assessment: Identify and document oral conditions and periodontal concerns accurately and consistently.
  • Therapeutic Support: Apply restoratives, sealants, desensitizers, and dressings; remove sutures and perform post-op care following clinical protocols.
  • Patient Education: Engage and empower patients with clear, actionable education on hygiene practices, nutrition, tobacco cessation, and appliance care.
  • Pain & Anxiety Management: Administer anesthetics, fluoride, and nitrous oxide safely and effectively as required.
  • Treatment Preparation: Review patient medical and dental history, assess radiographs, and develop informed treatment strategies prior to care delivery.
  • Infection Control: Rigorously follow sterilization and infection prevention procedures to maintain patient and provider safety.
  • Team Collaboration: Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the team through flexibility and by completing duties as assigned.

Qualifications -

  • Associate's degree from an accredited Dental Hygiene program
  • Active state license in dental hygiene
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience preferred
  • Demonstrated experience managing periodontal disease
  • Ability to communicate effectively with and treat patients of all ages
  • Strong interpersonal skills to support patient compliance and satisfaction

Physical Requirements -

  • Light physical activity, including lifting up to 20 pounds
  • Frequent walking, standing, and sitting
  • Occasional use of arm and leg controls
