Dental Assistant - New York University : Job Details

This dental assistant position supports the Oral Health Center for People with Disabilities. Provide four-handed chairside assistance to dental students, residents and faculty. Instruct dental students and dental assistant students in techniques and utilization of four-handed dentistry with special needs patients in multiple dental disciplines and infection control. Perform tests; assist with preparing dental castings, dispensing medications and instructions, and performing minor dental and surgical procedures; provide oral surgical assistance to dental residents, students and faculty. Assist in the administration of IV sedation and patient monitoring during surgical procedures. Ensure safe use, disposal, and storage of chemicals or hazardous materials. Maintain patient files and charts, lab work. Serve as clinic receptionist and clinic cashier. Qualifications Required Education:High School Diploma or equivalent High School diploma or equivalent.
