What You'll Do
- Prepare patients for dental exams, take medical histories, radiographs, and assist the dentist during treatment.
- Maintain and sterilize instruments, operatories, and lab areas while ensuring compliance with OSHA and infection control standards.
- Support patient self-management goals, provide oral hygiene education, and perform delegated clinical tasks such as sealants, polishing, and impressions.
- Manage supplies, purchase orders, and perform equipment maintenance, lab duties, and emergency equipment checks.
- Assist team members, train new assistants, and participate in continuing education and workshops.
What We're Looking ForRequired:
- BLS Certificate from American Red Cross or American Heart Association )
- Radiography (X-Ray) Certification
- Infection Control/Sterilization Certification
- Medical Emergencies (Dental Office Certification)
- Dental Assistant Certification
- Current NC Driver's License
Preferred:
- Coronal Polishing Certification
- Dental Assistant Program Diploma
- One (1) year of clinical experience in a primary care, community health, or outpatient setting
- Experience with underserved or rural populations
- Familiarity with team-based care or PCMH/PCHH models
