Job DetailsJob Location NJ - Fairfield, NJ Salary Range $80000.00 - $110000.00 Salary/year DescriptionPrimary Purpose: Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Demand Planning & Analytics, the Demand Planner will manage a 24-month rolling forecast and facilitate monthly demand review meetings with Sales to support volume plans, seasonal/promotional activities, and document demand drivers and assumptions. This role leads the development of accurate demand plans and scenarios for assigned business units by improving the John Galt Atlas statistical baseline forecast and merging insights from Sales. The ideal candidate will possess 2-3 years of experience in demand planning within a fast-paced CPG environment, working and maintaining plans in a demand planning tool, with supply planning awareness and understanding of the downstream effects the forecast has on the supply chain. They will be proactive and have strong cross-functional collaboration skills to work effectively with sales, marketing, supply planning, and business unit leaders to help us have the right products in the right locations at the right time, to maximize sales and profit for Schuman Cheese. Responsibilities:
- Use statistical and historical trends, demand drivers, and market insights to develop and maintain demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregations for a rolling 24-month period in the John Galt Atlas planning tool.
- Evaluate forecast performance and coordinate between cross-functional teams to reconcile significant variances to the forecast, refining the weekly demand signal within the short horizon.
- Through monthly demand review meetings, generate a consensus forecast by partnering with Sales to obtain new news, customer insights, risks and opportunities, while documenting all assumptions.
- Communicate customer action plans and forecast changes with supply planning, interacting regularly with them to ensure alignment to support strong service levels and reduce excess inventory.
- Collaborate with Project Managers on new product development (NPD) and contribute to the roll out and execution of the NPD process, including developing forecasts and tracking performance to update assumptions.
- Provide customer and item forecast inputs, key drivers on performance gaps, and corrective actions to be used in monthly executive S&OP meetings.
- Drive improved forecast value added (FVA), forecast accuracy and reduced forecast bias through root cause error analysis, collaboration, and process improvements.
- Build relationships throughout the supply chain to recognize and address process improvement opportunities.
- Assist in updating and issuing weekly and monthly reporting, such as item level pacing, forecast accuracy and bias, and inventory.
- Ensure optimal use of reports as key planning tools within the area of demand forecasting, stock management, sales history and reporting.

- Bachelor's degree, plus a minimum of 3 years of demand planning, supply chain planning, and/or customer order fulfillment experience

Supervisory Responsibility: This position will not have direct reports. Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Typical office working environment which includes a workstation equipped with a computer and other office supplies necessary for daily tasks. Typically climate-controlled to provide a comfortable working temperature year-round. Lighting is usually a mix of natural and artificial sources to ensure sufficient illumination Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time salaried position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday. Expectations of 45 hours per week, to be worked during normal business hours. This position is hybrid with three-four days in the office and 1-2 days working remotely.
