As a public, urban, modified open-access University and Hispanic-Serving Institution located in downtown Denver, Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites nominations and applications for the position of Dean of the School of Hospitality. Position OverviewReporting to the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Dean will be a visionary leader who exemplifies excellence in hospitality industry standards and education. Given the School's state-of-the-art facilities and applied curriculum focus, the Dean is expected to demonstrate effective leadership, resource management, and oversight of academic programs to support the University's mission.
Candidate QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have knowledge of both the hospitality industry—including food and beverage management, events management, tourism, and hotel management—and academic environments. Strong communication skills, respect for diversity, and the ability to foster collaboration are essential.

The School of Hospitality is the largest in the region and uniquely equipped with LEED Gold-certified facilities, including a hotel, conference space, beverage laboratory, restaurant, and brewery, all on campus.
Academic Programs and FacilitiesThe School offers undergraduate majors such as Brewery Operations, Event and Meeting Management, Hospitality Leadership, and Hotel Management; minors in Beverage Management; and certificates in areas like Culinary Arts and Outdoor Recreation. Future program proposals include Cannabis Studies. Facilities include the Hospitality Learning Center, a restaurant, beverage laboratory, and various labs supporting experiential learning.
Compensation and BenefitsThe annual salary range is $180,000 - $220,000, complemented by comprehensive benefits including health insurance, retirement plans, paid holidays, leave options, tuition benefits, and employee discounts.
