POSITION DETAILSFounded in 1971 in Long Island City, Queens, LaGuardia Community College is one of seven community colleges of the City University of New York/CUNY. LaGuardia offers more than sixty associate degree and certificate programs, as well as dozens of workforce training, ESOL, GED, and pre-college programs. In 2023, LaGuardia served approximately 25,000 students. More than one-third of our degree-seeking students were born outside of the United States, coming to LaGuardia from 136 countries and speaking forty-three heritage languages. More than half are first-generation college students. Sixty-nine percent live in Queens; the rest live in Brooklyn and beyond. Approximately two-thirds of our degree students receive financial aid. Responsibilities:Reporting to the President, the Dean for Institutional Effectiveness is charged with leading college assessment, accreditation, operational effectiveness, and continuous improvement. The Dean responds to internal and external requests for information; tracks institutional performance against a wide range of benchmarks; conducts research and analysis to support planning, enrollment management, program review, and assessment; and synthesizes and communicates findings. The Dean plays a key role in the college's strategic planning process, and is responsible for the college's Middle States Commission on Higher Education periodic accreditation, including our Self-Study Report. The Dean manages the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment.

QUALIFICATIONSThis position is in CUNY's Executive Compensation Plan. All executive positions require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience. The successful candidate will demonstrate significant familiarity and accomplishment with strategic planning, including evaluation of programs that promote student retention and success. Candidates should have knowledge that includes methodologies of evaluation, assessment, survey research, statistics, and data analysis. Expertise with assessment tools and techniques, survey research methods, statistical and database management software packages, and the dynamics of strategic planning and accreditation is required.
Proven understanding of innovative techniques of data management, analysis, and dissemination across a complex organization, and success and leading a team of higher education research experts. Strong organizational skills analytical, and communication skills, and the ability to work with complex computer information systems are essential.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSA Master's degree with at least eight (8) years of related experience is preferred.
