An established engineering firm is seeking a DCS Software Engineer with experience in ABB 800xA for a hybrid position based in Baltimore, MD. This role supports both project-based software development and on-site support at a major municipal facility.The ideal candidate will have hands-on programming experience with DCS platforms, HMI development, and troubleshooting in a plant environment.Key Responsibilities:Develop and modify control logic and HMI interfaces using ABB DCS 800xAProvide on-site support and troubleshooting for DCS systems at a municipal facilityParticipate in developing and implementing new processes within the plant control systemsWork on both project side (remote ABB programming, HMI development) and service side (on-site issue resolution)Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and plant personnel to deliver automation solutionsAssist with commissioning and integration of systemsRequired Qualifications:Hands-on experience with ABB 800xA (or comparable DCS platforms like DeltaV)Proficiency in DCS programming and HMI developmentAbility to write logic from scratch and troubleshoot system issuesComfortable with hybrid work (remote and local on-site support in Baltimore, MD)Strong communication and problem-solving skillsPreferred Qualifications:Experience in water/wastewater or municipal utility projects2–4 year degree in Electrical Engineering or related fieldFamiliarity with Allen-Bradley PLCs and SCADA integration conceptsAdditional Information:This position offers flexibility: contract, contract-to-hire, or direct hire, based on your preferenceRelocation assistance available if you're open to relocating to BaltimoreRemote work allowed when not actively supporting the siteOnline assessment (non-pass/fail) required before interviewBackground check requiredNo visa sponsorship is availableLocation: Baltimore, MD (Hybrid – on-site and remote work)Employment Type: Contract, Contract-to-Hire, or Direct HirePay Rate: $48–$55/hour (based on experience and education)Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (some field hours as needed)Start Date: ASAPInterested in Learning More?Please contact Jaie Rogers at:?
