Job Responsibilities:

• Cut, shape, and assemble wood, composition, brick, and/or plastic sections using shop tools and equipment such as planers, jointers, shapers, routers, sanders, and power saws.
• Prepare structures for finish applications by planning, shaping, and sanding using hand and power tools.
• Follow safety rules and regulations, maintaining a safe and clean environment.
• Read specifications, blueprints, sketches, building plans, and form drawings to prepare project layouts and determine materials needed.
• Ensure all projects are completed according to code, in a timely, neat, and safe manner, maintaining a clean work area.
• Maintain, adjust, calibrate, and service equipment used in duties.

About The Job:

• This is a physical job requiring lifting, bending, stooping, and standing for long periods. Heavy lifting (up to 100 lbs.) and climbing stairs are required, with accommodations as needed.
• Work sites may be hot in summer and cool in winter, often not climate-controlled.
• Pay rate depends on skill and experience, following union minimum scales.

Requirements:

• Union membership must be joined within 7 days (dues paid by employee).
• Union membership card required if currently in the union; if not, must provide within 7 days.
• Own hand tools required; power and specialty tools provided.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug test required.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Proof of eligibility to work in the USA within 3 days of start date required.
• Reliable transportation needed.
• Ability to work a set schedule.
