Now Hiring: Full-Time Life Skills Instructor Cranford, NJ | Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 4 PM Are you passionate about helping individuals with disabilities build skills, confidence, and community connections? Community Access Unlimited (CAU) is seeking a dedicated Life Skills Instructor to support members of our Day Program in reaching their goals for independence and personal growth. General Description As a Life Skills Instructor, you'll play a hands-on role in supporting adults with disabilities through meaningful daily activities, work training, and community-based experiences - all while ensuring their safety, well-being, and inclusion. Education / Experience High School Diploma required. A background in education or experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly valued. Preference given to candidates with prior experience in employment services and/or providing direct support. Possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Responsibilities
  • Assist in implementing Individual Service Plans (ISPs)
  • Complete all contract requirements for programming
  • Ensure members' health, safety, and medication administration
  • Assist in developing work opportunities for members
  • Train and assist with daily life skills
  • Encourage and support community participation
  • Maintain appropriate staff-member relationships
  • Participate in Periodic Service Reviews and quality assurance
  • Support program financial management practices
  • Cooperate with Agency, legal authorities, and DHS during any inspections or investigations
  • Ensure compliance with all background checks and screenings (fingerprinting, CARI, drug testing, etc.)
  • Perform other duties as assigned
