Your Mission:
In this role, your primary responsibilities will be to perform DBA support activities for database environments running in production and test environments. This will include performing database backups, recovery, reorgs, unloads, load, database monitoring/tuning, supporting production migrations, and debugging application issues. Assist senior database colleagues by working closely with development teams to create and maintain our database environments and perform refreshes of less complex database environments to support application testing. This position will work under moderate to direct supervision and will escalate questions to senior staff when necessary.
How You'll Make an Impact:
- Provide operational support for all database instances, manage changes, and implement automation tools to streamline operations.
- Participate in production readiness reviews to ensure database reliability needs are met, assist in designing redundant systems and disaster recovery policies, and develop methods for integrating and customizing databases to meet specific needs.
- Monitor databases, assist in the development and maintenance of monitoring systems, and ensure performance and reliability goals are met.
- Responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of corporate databases.
- Manage and optimize database workloads on Azure Cloud or similar cloud providers.
- Implement, administer, and maintain policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company databases.
- Assist in writing documentation, establishing procedures and supporting other team members.
- Communicate and monitor compliance with existing practices.
- Maintain knowledge in state-of-the-art technologies and methodologies.
- Ensure communication with internal staff and vendors is timely, professional, and complete.
- Ensure quality data creation, presentation, and data flow within our systems.
- Experience with automation and scripting using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Python, or PowerShell.
- Use of automation to streamline database operational work.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Azure Monitoring or similar.
- Use of monitoring tools to gain visibility into the performance and reliability of database systems.
- Experience with managing database workloads on Azure Cloud or similar cloud providers.
- Experience with designing database systems to meet performance and reliability goals established by service owners.
- Using monitoring tools and data to ensure database systems are meeting reliability goals.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related degree with computer classes. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience with NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB and Redis) and relational databases (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server).
- Strong knowledge of documentation and diagramming skills.
- Evidence of experience with database clustering and replication.
- Solid judgment, analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve matters of significance.
- Demonstrated ability to work with various levels of colleagues and public, from top management to new hires.
- Evidence of ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.

- This is a full-time position with various work schedules that support a 24 X 7 shift position which can include nights, weekends, and holidays.
