Database Administrator / System Engineer - New York City Department of Investigation : Job Details

The New York City Department of Investigation (DOI) is one of the oldest law enforcement agencies in the country, with a mission to combat municipal corruption. It serves the people of New York City by acting as an independent, nonpartisan watchdog for the City government, its agencies, employees, vendors with City contracts, and entities receiving City funds.

DOI's Information Technology Unit seeks a Database Administrator/System Engineer reporting to the Director of Development and the Chief of Infrastructure and Network Officer. The successful candidate will support DOI's Case Management System (CMS), Microsoft SharePoint 365, OpenText Content Management System, and internally developed applications. Responsibilities include technical design, system enhancements, maintenance, and establishing system architecture and specifications.

• Minimum of 5 years in Database Administration.
• Strong knowledge of Linux, scripting, and support for Microsoft SQL Server (2019+), Oracle RDBMS (11g/12c/19c), and Oracle RAC.
• Experience with database backup, restore, security, and Oracle BI/Analytics reporting.
• Knowledge of PowerShell scripting, Agile/Lean practices, networking, TCP/IP, Java/J2EE, ASP.NET, and design patterns.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication skills, and ability to work independently and adapt to changing conditions.
