Akkodis is seeking a Database Administrator for a contract with a client in Dallas, TX(Hybrid). This role involves performance monitoring, query optimization, and supporting schema design and data governance while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. Rate Range: $70/hour to 75/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Database Administrator job responsibilities include:
- Support and maintain large-scale databases across Oracle, SQL Server, and Exadata platforms, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Monitor and optimize database performance, including long-running queries, memory usage, and tablespace configurations.
- Perform logical DBA tasks such as schema creation, user/role management, data refreshes, and scripting jobs using PL/SQL and Shell.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, analysts, and other DBAs to support business and technical requirements.
- Ensure compliance with data governance policies, proactively identifying and resolving access issues and retention conflicts.
- Participate in Agile processes using JIRA, contributing to sprint planning, issue tracking, and documentation of DBA procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on physical DBA experience across Oracle, SQL Server, and Exadata environments.
- Strong skills in performance monitoring, query optimization, and scripting using PL/SQL and Shell in large-scale database environments.
- Familiarity with Agile methodology and JIRA workflows, along with experience collaborating across teams and managing data governance practices.
