Position Summary: LAFCU's Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the credit union's database systems to ensure security, efficiency, and accessibility. This role plays a critical part in supporting financial operations, member services, and data-driven decision-making. This position is a full-time, non-exempt, hybrid-remote position at the employee's assigned location and reports to the AVP of Information Technology.Job Summary / Description:
  • Database Management: Oversee the administration, maintenance, and performance tuning of database systems, primarily Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement security protocols to protect sensitive financial and member data, ensuring compliance with industry regulations (NCUA).
  • Data Integrity & Backup: Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data integrity and availability.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize queries for efficiency.
  • System Integration: Collaborate with IT teams to integrate databases with core banking systems, financial applications, and reporting tools.
  • Automation & Reporting: Develop automated processes for data extraction, reporting, and analytics to support business intelligence initiatives.
Qualification & Opportunities:
  • Have a bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or Engineering. Certification in AWS, Azure, VMware, MS (MCSE), Linux.
  • Ability to diagnose database performance issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Maintaining accuracy in data structure design, security protocols, and system documentation.
  • Working effectively with IT teams, developers, and stakeholders to align database strategies with business needs.
  • Ability to handle database upgrades, migrations, and optimization projects with a structured approach.
Salary:
  • The minimum and maximum base salary range for this position is $35.61 to $54.74 in California.
  • The target starting base hourly rate is between $35.61 to $45.22.
  • This compensation and benefits information is based on Los Angeles Federal Credit Union's good faith estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future.
  • The starting base salary within the range will depend on a variety of factors that may include relevant prior experience and/or education, or skills and expertise.
