Akkodis is seeking a Database Administrator for a Contract job with a client in New York, NY(Hybrid) . This role involves developing and maintaining Kafka-based data pipelines and ensuring 24/7 support availability during rotational service guard periods. Rate Range: $45/hour to $49/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Database Administrator job responsibilities include:
- Install, configure, and maintain database systems to ensure optimal performance and availability.
- Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies to improve efficiency.
- Ensure data security and integrity through access controls, backups, and disaster recovery planning.
- Develop and maintain database documentation, including schemas, procedures, and configurations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, including outages, slow queries, and data corruption.
- Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to support application and system integration.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in database administration and management.
- Proven expertise in managing and optimizing enterprise-level databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
- Strong experience in implementing backup, recovery, and high-availability strategies in production environments.
