Data & Solutions Architect - Symplast EHR : Job Details

As the Data & Solutions Architect, you'll become a key driving component in our mission to establish a sustainable technical architecture and improve our enterprise applications ecosystem. The Data & Solutions Architect is a critical leader within the organization, responsible for defining, designing, and implementing cutting-edge data solutions to support business intelligence, analytics, and machine learning initiatives. This role requires a deep understanding of enterprise data systems, cloud platforms, and modern data architecture principles. The successful candidate must work with business stakeholders to explain and champion functional and solution concepts, maintain continuity across the different work streams of complex projects and programs. The individual should possess a balanced mix of technical expertise and strong business acumen, working alongside an enterprise architect for strategic direction. They make technical decisions regarding solutions and understand how technology design impacts business outcomes.

Job Responsibilities:

• Project Management
• Review business context for solutions to company challenges as well as defining the vision and requirements for the solution, recommending potential options and selecting the most optimal solution
• Validate and future proof solution designs and communicate with software vendors, external service providers, and application developers
• Prepare, conduct, and evaluate proof-of-concept integration solutions per business use cases. Quantify the business values and articulate the value proposition to application teams and senior management
• Document and diagram current and future state integration processes across business applications.
• Inventory and maintain a Systems / Integration repository across segments to promote reusability.
• Develop architectures and solution blueprints that address functional-specific requirements, data models, system integration, and user interfaces adhering to enterprise standards and guidelines.
• Database Administration
• Conduct regular performance tuning and optimization to ensure optimal database efficiency
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate database systems with other applications and technologies
• Partner with application developers and system administrators to design and implement efficient and effective database solutions.
• Design and implement data models for various applications, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
• Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to safeguard database integrity and availability.
• Monitor database access and privileges, ensuring compliance with security standards and policies.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database systems, configurations, and procedures.
• Plan and execute regular maintenance tasks, including software updates and patches.
• Provide technical support to developers, analysts, and other stakeholders.
• Data Governance & Compliance:
• Lead the development and enforcement of data governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with data privacy and security regulations.
• Work with legal to ensure compliance and all data initiatives meet the necessary standards.
• Oversee the management and documentation of data standards, policies, and best practices.
• Innovation & Technology Leadership:
• Stay ahead of emerging data technologies, including machine learning, AI, and big data analytics, and provide recommendations on their integration.
• Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and approaches to optimize data operations and analytics capabilities.
• Actively promote data innovation, guiding the team on evolving technologies and methodologies.
• Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support:
• Serve as the key liaison between business and technical teams, ensuring that data solutions meet business requirements and deliver on key commercial goals.
• Provide technical guidance to development teams during solution implementation, ensuring alignment with the architecture.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze business needs.
• Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with development team to ensure data infrastructure supports business intelligence, reporting, and analytics needs, optimizing performance, availability, and security.
• Lead the design of business intelligence solutions, including dashboards and reports, for senior commercial leadership, helping them drive data-informed decisions.

Job Requirements:

• 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator or Solutions Architect
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of database management systems.
• Proficiency in database design, implementation, and optimization.
• Experience with data modeling and schema design.
• Solid understanding of database security practices.
• Familiarity with backup and recovery processes.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

• Expertise in application development, database design, enterprise integration patterns, APIs, Security patterns and best practices for application development.
• Proficiency in designing scalable, resilient architectures.
