Role and Responsibilities:

  • Engage in a hybrid role that bridges business objectives, collaboration with fellow data scientists, and data engineers to identify impactful trends and KPIs.
  • Design and implement robust, reusable, and scalable data solutions and frameworks to automate analysis.
  • Utilize tools such as DBT, BigQuery, Hex, Vertex AI, and Tableau, while remaining adaptable to evolving needs.
  • Build and analyze models across various organizational datasets, specializing in commercial sales and execution data.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers on significant projects to manage the entire data lifecycle, from sourcing to mining.
  • Operate in an agile setting, frequently employing tools like Trello.
  • Create new systems and tools to facilitate intuitive data consumption and understanding for stakeholders.
  • Establish design standards and processes for compatibility and operability of data connections, flows, and storage.
  • Keep Juul Labs at the forefront of data technology by exploring innovative solutions.
  • Perform related duties as assigned, keeping within your expertise area.

Personal and Professional Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist.
  • Proven ability to translate complex analytical findings into clear business recommendations.
  • Experience independently driving data science and engineering solutions.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL for analyzing large datasets.
  • Skilled in using Python libraries (Pandas, Polars, PyArrow) along with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery).
  • Comfortable working with AI pipelines, particularly Vertex AI.
  • Keen understanding of bash/shell scripting and orchestration tools, such as Airflow, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and containerization (Docker).
  • Strong analytical SQL skills for data modeling and transformation across multiple formats (dbt).
  • Foundational knowledge of machine learning pipeline deployment and maintenance is a plus.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or a related field is preferred.
