Job Description :
About GovWell We the people (and the taxpayers) deserve good government - but today, interacting with government services is often frustrating and inefficient. GovWell is building the AI-powered platform that transforms how governments serve communities, starting with local agencies. Our first product helps municipal and county governments modernize by automating complex processes like permitting and licensing, while streamlining services for residents. It combines a highly configurable SaaS system of record with generative AI that automates workflows, guides residents through government systems, and is radically simple to implement and maintain. Founded in 2023, GovWell already powers critical workflows for agencies in 27 states, serving millions of residents. We've raised $9.5M in seed funding from Work-Bench and Bienville Capital. Read more about our founding story in TechCrunch. Role overview GovWell is hiring a Data Scientist to play a critical role in how governments transition to modern systems. You'll sit at the intersection of data engineering, analytics, and customer experience - leading migrations from legacy software, building scalable data workflows, and ensuring that agencies can quickly unlock value from GovWell's platform. This role reports directly to Ben Cohen, Co-Founder and CTO, and offers the chance to shape the foundations of GovWell's data function while working closely with Product, Engineering, and Deployment teams. We have a hybrid work culture that combines regular in-person collaboration at our New York City office (3+ days per week) with flexibility to work remotely. ☀ Why GovWell?
  • A mission that matters: Building AI-powered products to fix outdated government systems isn't just a technical challenge-it's a historic opportunity to improve our foundational relationship with government and ensure trillions of tax dollars result in high quality services. • Develop internal tools and templates that standardize and speed up data migration as GovWell scales.
  • Contribute to post-migration analytics by ensuring clean, structured datasets are available for reporting and decision-making.
