The Data Scientist will work as part of the Analytics and Decision Support department. The primary purpose of this position is to enable the University through data and information for improved decision-making. This role involves collaborating with other business data analysts to develop technical requirements and comprehensive solutions for data extraction and transformation from multiple source systems for business use. The ideal candidate will balance customer requirements with data analysis using various tools and techniques. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Provide innovative analytics solutions for complex data challenges, working with internal and external partners to identify solutions. Explore leading analytics approaches to improve model-driven methodologies. Collaborate with functional teams to access data, understand it, and identify improvements for data ingestion processes. Create rich data visualizations to communicate complex ideas to leadership. Use predictive modeling to enhance customer experiences, revenue, and other business outcomes. Mine and analyze data to optimize product development, marketing, and strategies. Design, develop, and test advanced analytics models into scalable solutions in a big data environment. Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience in SQL, report writing tools (Argos, SSRS, Tableau). Experience with testing and maintaining enterprise systems. Industry certifications are preferred. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical, organizational, and computer skills. Valid Virginia driver's license, acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance are required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
