IT: Two Sigma Investments, LP seeks a Data Scientist in NY, NY. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, researching, engineering, and developing novel data preparation methods using complex linear algebra, math, and statistical modeling techniques to transform raw financial data into structured data products. The role involves designing and implementing granular, domain-specific features related to company, industry, and macroeconomic factors to support systematic investment management research and trading processes.
Qualifications:
- Master's or equivalent in Computer Science or related field plus 2 years of experience in Data Science or related experience; OR Bachelor's or equivalent in Computer Science or related field plus 5 years of experience in Data Science or related experience.
- Experience designing and independently creating data products with feature engineering components for quantitative research.
- Experience in one or more domains within quantitative finance.
- Experience collaborating with engineering teams.
- Experience collecting and evaluating user requirements to build data products.
- Experience leading large-scale data projects spanning multiple quarters.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, R, or Matlab for data analysis, processing, and transformation.
- Knowledge of working with data frames and libraries like Pandas and NumPy.
- Knowledge of linear algebra, fundamental mathematics, and statistical modeling techniques.
- Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
- Experience configuring and supporting live data pipelines.
- Experience creating and maintaining Python libraries for data transformations.
- Experience visualizing data using libraries such as matplotlib, seaborn, or ggplot.
- Experience cleaning, preparing, and normalizing time series data.
- Experience conducting technical interviews.
- Ability to produce technical documentation and presentations, communicating effectively at appropriate technical levels.
Candidate must pass the company's required skills assessment. Employer will accept any amount of graduate coursework, research experience, or relevant skills.
Compensation: $171,000 - $325,000 per year, potentially including other benefits and forms of compensation.
