SUMMARY
We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist for a leading financial technology and investment analytics organization, which would be a great opportunity for someone with experience in financial data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning looking to further their career in quantitative finance and investment research.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and implement sophisticated statistical models and machine learning algorithms to extract insights from large-scale financial datasets.
- Lead the end-to-end development of data science projects, including problem formulation, data exploration, feature engineering, modeling, validation, and deployment.
- Translate complex mathematical theories into practical applications and tools for financial forecasting, risk modeling, and portfolio optimization.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and financial domain experts to align analytical solutions with business goals.
- Present findings and recommendations to executive stakeholders with clarity and precision.
- Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to the development of best practices in data science and quantitative modeling.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's or Ph.D. in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Quantitative Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a data science or quantitative role, preferably in the financial services sector.
- Proven expertise in solving complex mathematical or statistical problems using large datasets.
- Proficiency in Python and/or R, with deep experience in data manipulation, machine learning libraries, and statistical modeling tools.
- Experience with financial data (market data, alternative data, economic indicators, etc.) and understanding of capital markets or risk modeling.
- Solid foundation in probability theory, time-series analysis, and optimization techniques.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical results to non-technical audiences.
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and distributed computing.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools, such as Power BI and Tableau.
- Published research or contributions to open-source investment data science projects.
- Background in robust statistics, financial modeling, and private markets.
