Xometry is seeking a Data Scientist II for our sourcing team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for applying machine learning tools and techniques to develop, optimize, and evaluate predictive models that forecast various business outcomes. Additionally, this individual will leverage their knowledge of probability and statistics to make robust statistical inferences from data.

Responsibilities:

• Develop predictive models using data science and machine learning principles
• Write software to prepare, clean, and sample data for modeling
• Utilize cloud resources (e.g., Amazon Web Services) for data processing
• Query and extract data from databases such as Snowflake
• Use data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Jupyter Notebooks, Looker) to inform business strategy
• Iterate solutions rapidly in a dynamic environment with ambiguity
• Address challenging, uncharted problems
• Collaborate in a team-oriented and continuous learning environment

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in applied math, computer science, natural sciences, or engineering
• MS or PhD in a related field is highly preferred
• At least 3 years of experience with machine learning, statistical modeling, and optimization
• Proficiency in Python (pandas, numpy, SciPy, scikit-learn)
• Strong understanding of linear algebra and statistics
• Experience with scientific software principles, including version control and reproducibility
• Experience in manufacturing industry is a plus
• Must be a US citizen or Green Card holder (ITAR compliance)
