The ideal candidate is curious and inquisitive, hyper analytical, highly motivated, with a player/coach mindset and passionate about mentoring/developing others.Job Description:Job Title: Data Science Manager, ProductMeet Our Team:Consumer GADS (Global Analytics and Data Science) shapes the strategy of our Consumer Products at PayPal and Venmo through data driven decision making. P2P (Peer to Peer payments) is a flagship product that you'll be supporting as a part of this team.Your Way to Impact:We are looking for a Data Science Manager to lead our P2P Analytics. This person will need to take end to end ownership on key initiatives and projects. The candidate will help shape the strategy of the product through insights by mining P2P's rich data and designing experimentation at scale.Your Day-to-Day:

  • Design experimentation or AB Testing at scale and support new product launches by ensuring constant monitoring is in place to track product performance.
  • Make data visually appealing and simple to both navigate and comprehend for end-users.
  • Identify key metrics and drive the building of exec-facing dashboards to track progress of the business and its highest priority initiatives.
  • Identify key business levers, establish cause & effect, and communicate key findings to various stakeholders to facilitate data driven decision-making.
  • Engage in problem solving with Risk, Product, Marketing, and various other teams to determine performance trends and root causes.
  • Create close relationships with stakeholders to anticipate & answer questions that might be asked by executives.
  • Support a team of strong Data Scientists perform deep dive analyses on key business trends from multiple perspectives and package the insights into easily consumable presentations.
What You Need to Bring:
  • A successful candidate will bring at least 7+ years of professional experience within an analytical role.
  • Experimentation (Hypothesis Testing or AB Testing) knowledge and experience is required.
  • Knowledge of Causal Inference Techniques and their applications is required.
  • Experience analyzing very large, complex, multi-dimensional data sets is required.
  • Advanced SQL experience is required, preferable with Big Query analytics (Google Cloud).
  • Proficiency with database, spreadsheet, and statistical tools.
  • Experience working in the consumer product space is highly preferred.
  • Expertise in stitching together findings to convey coherent insights.
  • Experience with one or multiple of the following will be highly desirable; Python, Tableau, Jupyter Notebooks, Teradata, Hadoop/Hive, SQL, BigQuery.
  • Ability to solve problems analytically and create actionable recommendations.
  • Advanced ability to use reporting tools like Tableau and/or Excel to share analysis.
  • Work experience in the payments, ecommerce, or financial services industry is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in a quantitative field (such as Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or Engineering) or equivalent field experience is preferred.

PayPal is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Actual Compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to work location, and relevant skills and experience. The total compensation for this practice may include an annual performance bonus (or other incentive compensation, as applicable), equity, and medical, dental, vision, and other benefits.

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is $96,900 to $234,300.

For the majority of employees, PayPal's balanced hybrid work model offers 3 days in the office for effective in-person collaboration and 2 days at your choice of either the PayPal office or your home workspace, ensuring that you equally have the benefits and conveniences of both locations.
