Data Science Manager - $280,000 + bonus – New York, NY

A key client of ours, a global management consultancy, is looking for a Data Science Manager to add to their ever flourishing Data Science team. The AI & Data Business Unit is the driving force behind the firm's innovation. They combine state-of-the-art Data Science, Generative AI, and advanced digital technologies to deliver transformative solutions across industries. With a global team of over 350 experts, who lead projects from initial proof-of-concept through to full-scale implementation—constantly redefining the possibilities of AI. There are 12 R&D labs across Europe and North America are at the forefront of innovation, conducting cutting-edge research in areas such as computer vision, MLOps, and deep learning. These labs work hand-in-hand with the business consultants to ensure that every breakthrough delivers real-world impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and Mentor: Provide direction, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for a team of data science consultants, fostering a culture of continuous growth and learning.
• Client Collaboration: Partner with client leadership, engineering teams, program managers, and data analysts to understand complex business needs and translate them into actionable data strategies.
• Data Exploration & Acquisition: Oversee the identification, collection, and processing of structured and unstructured data sources to uncover patterns, trends, and insights.
• Advanced Analytics & Modeling: Apply expert knowledge of data science, including machine learning, statistical modeling, and natural language processing, to extract insights and build predictive solutions.
• Change Management: Develop and execute change management strategies that ensure the successful integration and adoption of data science solutions within client organizations.
• Project Leadership: Utilize advanced project management methodologies to lead initiatives from concept to delivery, ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets, and business goals.
• Insight Communication: Design and deliver clear, compelling communications—such as presentations, dashboards, and data visualizations—to effectively convey complex analytical insights to diverse audiences.
• Business Development: Contribute to the unit's growth through business development efforts, including proposal development and client engagement to meet sales and expansion targets.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in data science or a related field, with a demonstrated history of leading high-impact projects in complex environments.
• Strong foundation in data science, including machine learning, statistical analysis, and NLP.
• Proficient in Python, R, SQL, and data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or R Shiny.
• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (Master's or PhD preferred).
• Proven project management skills; certifications in Agile, Scrum, or PMP are advantageous.
• Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and influence across all organizational levels.
• Outstanding communication, problem-solving, and business strategy capabilities.
• Adaptable and comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments.
