Position Overview

We are seeking a Data Operations Associate to join a dynamic, high-caliber operations team. The ideal candidate will be someone with a proven track record in hedge fund operations or investment management, eager to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing critical data management functions, ensuring the integrity of data, and supporting the operational needs of the firms investment strategies. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire lifecycle of data contracts, ensuring seamless coordination of vendor changes, including logging data requests, tracking daily progress, providing status updates, and overseeing the entire process from trial through subscription, renewal, and termination.
  • Maintain an organized record of data contract details, subscriptions, and associated costs within the system.
  • Serve as the main point of contact between vendors and internal teams to coordinate contract renewals, terminations, trials, compliance, cost negotiations, and onboarding of new data sources.
  • Monitor and manage the team inbox, promptly identifying new and outstanding data requests, as well as vendor releases. Proactively follow up with internal teams to ensure timely action on upcoming changes.
  • Assist with ad-hoc research requests, including identifying potential new data vendors or subscriptions, summarizing costs, and providing detailed explanations of pricing structures.
  • Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in hedge fund operations, asset management, or a related field.
  • Education: A Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Skills: Strong technical skills in Excel, data analysis, and familiarity with portfolio management, trading systems, and data vendors (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters, Python, SQL, VBA, or similar).
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies and improve operational efficiencies.
  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge: A deep understanding of hedge fund structures, trade flows, and back-office functions.
  • Problem-Solving: A proactive and solutions-oriented mindset, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure environment.
