LaunchCode is looking for both a Federal Data Engineer and Databricks Engineer to work at our partner company at Scott Air Force Base!

Position Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

Location: Scott Air Force Base (O'Fallon, IL 62269) – Onsite (may entertain hybrid)

Compensation: $80,000 – $130,000/year (DOE)

Clearance Requirement: U.S. Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain an Interim Secret Clearance.

Hiring Timeline: Immediate

Note: Company partner will be disclosed during the hiring process.

What You'll Do

  • Design and implement pipelines and frameworks within a Databricks/Spark environment.
  • Onboard new use cases and evaluate solutions against platform baselines.
  • Collaborate with leaders, project managers, and developers to gather and refine requirements.
  • Oversee implementation phases to ensure accuracy, compliance, and reliability.
  • Provide technical recommendations that align system roadmaps with mission priorities.

What We're Looking For (Federal Data Engineer)

  • 3–10 years of experience in a data-focused role (federal experience = a plus).
  • Strong skills in SQL and Python (automation and analysis are your thing).
  • Knowledge of databases and scripting.
  • Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, or Redshift.
  • Familiarity with visualization tools (Cognos, Tableau, Qlik, etc.).
  • Strong ETL background: building pipelines, combining sources, optimizing flows.
  • Teradata expertise (Multiloads, BTEQs, etc.) strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree from an accredited university.

What We're Looking For (Databricks Engineer):

  • Interim Secret Clearance (or clearable with sponsorship).
  • 1+ years of hands-on Databricks development (only for the Databricks role)
  • 1+ years in Data Architecture, Modeling, Warehousing, Engineering, Science, or Analytics.
  • 3+ years with Python, Java, Shell, SQL, or R.
  • Experience briefing senior leadership and working in complex environments.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree required.

Preferred: Experience with DoD networks, Spark/Databricks pipelines, big data frameworks, or developing technical roadmaps.
