About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to help build our data infrastructure and analytics initiatives, driving data-driven improvements in patient care outcomes. This role combines data engineering with strategic analytics, requiring you to architect data pipelines, design robust data models, and deliver actionable insights that directly impact healthcare delivery. You will own the end-to-end data lifecycle—from building reliable ETL processes to performing complex analyses that evaluate program effectiveness and guide strategic decisions. Additionally, you'll mentor team members, establish data governance best practices, and partner with pharmacists to develop analytical tools that optimize patient interventions. Future initiatives include architecting secure, real-time data platforms for pharmacist-patient interactions and designing predictive models to enhance patient outreach strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering with demonstrated analytics expertise

• High-level proficiency in Python for data engineering, automation, and advanced analytics

• Solid SQL skills with experience in query optimization and database design

• Experience with both relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases

• Experience with visualization tools and building executive dashboards

• Demonstrated ability to build accurate and reliable data products

• Experience implementing data quality frameworks and monitoring solutions

• Strong knowledge of security best practices for handling sensitive healthcare data (HIPAA compliance)

• Excellent communication skills with ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Skills

• Experience in the core AWS ecosystem (S3, EC2)

• Proficiency with orchestration tools (Airflow, Argo, Dagster) in production environments

• Experience with streaming technologies (Kafka, Kinesis) and real-time analytics

• Familiarity with healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR)

• Knowledge of machine learning pipelines and experience deploying models to production

• Track record of completing complex data initiatives and working on a team of engineers
