Principal Data Engineer

Series B, Startup

New York (Hybrid)

$200,000 + Significant Equity + Bonus

The company is a leading provider of virtual care to help tackle substance use.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain data pipelines for extracting, transforming and loading data from various sources into our data warehouses using tools like dbt, airbyte and census
• Experience working with a composable data platform architecture, with a modular approach to a data platform, encompassing a data toolset that includes Apache Airflow & AWS Redshift and pillars for observability, identity resolution and an API activation layer.
• Work closely with data analysts and analytic engineers to understand data requirements and implement efficient data solutions
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, ensuring optimal data quality and availability for downstream analytics
• Design and optimize data architectures for scalability and performance
• Implement data modelling, database design, data mining and integration
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation in the data infrastructure
• Adhere to security, compliance and data governance requirements, experience and familiarity with healthcare data and datasets is preferred.

Requirements:

• 3+ years experience as a data engineer or similar role
• Expert knowledge of Python, SQL, and data pipeline orchestration tools like Airflow and dbt
• Experience with cloud data platforms like AWS, GCP or Azure
• Strong database design and data modelling skill.
• Experience with data warehousing and ETL process
• Ability to work collaboratively in an agile environment
• Strong problem solving and communication skills
