Job Title: Content Specialist (multiple positions)

Location: Chicago, IL

Job Duties:
  • Gather and refine broad business requirements from Morningstar commercial products into concrete implementation plans with clear resource estimates to aid with enterprise-level prioritization (15%).
  • Design and lead the end-to-end implementation of new data solutions by providing detailed specifications based on sound financial research as well as commercial request for technical team implementation (15%).
  • Document the business data flow and manage the upstream/downstream dependencies during the development process (30%).
  • Conduct QA testing of the end output to ensure quality across 10 different dimensions (5%).
  • Serve as the voice for the Managed Investment Data team, the largest data team at Morningstar, in discussions regarding new data platform developments and data governance (5%).
  • Educate team members globally to ensure organizational alignment on dataset implementation via new data platforms and serve as consultants for global data initiatives (30%).
  • Job Requirements:

    Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, or a related analytical field or foreign equivalent, with 3 years of relevant experience in roles such as Associate Data Research Analyst, Data Research Analyst, Senior Data Research Analyst, Data Content Researcher, or related positions. The role also requires:

    • Experience with SQL and Python
    • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) technologies
    • Financial data modeling expertise
    • Data storage design skills
    • Experience with Data ETL (extract, transform, load) processes
    • Ability to simplify technical concepts for non-technical audiences
    • Experience with technical product management
    • Familiarity with agile development frameworks

    Must possess unrestricted right to work in the U.S.

    Base Salary: $112,814
