Data Configuration Specialist (Engineering)

Job Summary

Under general supervision, the Data Configuration Specialist will assist in documenting and organizing technical and engineering requirements related to Cla-Val Products. Responsibilities include implementing product updates, researching affected parts, managing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), creating item numbers, tracking inventory, updating Bills of Material (BOM), and maintaining status reports. The role also involves documenting and training on product upgrades, process improvements, and engineering procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and review bills of material for new and revised products.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement new products, updates, and parts.
  • Maintain documentation and support across departments.
  • Update drawings and related documents as requirements change.
  • Use management software to handle engineering records and documents.
  • Create and process Engineering Change Orders and coordinate their implementation.
  • Coordinate document updates with facilities and certification authorities.
  • Maintain data integrity and suggest improvements to systems and databases.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety guidelines.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    Requires a Bachelor of Science in a technical field or an Associate's degree with coursework towards a Bachelor's, and at least 3 years of experience in configuration management. Experience with PLM and ERP systems, advanced Excel skills, and understanding of manufacturing practices are essential. CAD software experience (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is beneficial.

    • Knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes.
    • Experience with PLM/ERP systems.
    • Understanding of drafting practices and schematic drawings.
    • Ability to read and write test procedures and reports.
    • Strong organizational and communication skills.
    • Ability to concentrate on data entry tasks for extended periods.
    • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
